The 23rd annual Whooping Crane Festival will be a unique event you do not want to miss. Bird lovers, photographers, and families will love taking part in this great event. The Whooping Crane Festival celebrates the return of the Whooping Crane to their winter habitat at the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge. The Texas Coastal bend is unique because it is the last naturally occurring population of Whooping Cranes. Activities will include everything from boat tours to painting and wine tasting classes.
This event will take place from Thursday, February 20th to Sunday, February 23rd. The first day will kick off with the whooping crane boat tour and birding/nature tour. The second day will include the bird’s nest trade show, guest speakers, king ranch birding trips, photography trip and workshops, several types of birding and nature tours, and specialty wine events. On Saturday attendees will enjoy guest speakers, Fennessey Ranch birding field trip, photography workshop, and multiple birding field trips. The event will close off with the King Ranch birding field trip, bird’s nest trade show, bird identification workshop, and field trips.
